Kongsted Church is located in the former village of Kongsted, which today is part of the town of Rønnede approx. 5 km west of Faxe (Zealand Region).

Kongsted Church was originally a Romanesque church from 1100-1200AD. In the years 1425-1450, the church was completely changed to the Late Gothic style.
