Schaumburg-Lippe Carabinier Squadron, 1756
UniformInfo - Military Modelling magazine
Q
Sirs,
The information I require is about horse furniture and shabraques of the Schaumburg-Lippe Carabinier Squadron 1756, a unit apparently active in the Seven Years War.
Details of the uniform appear in Blandford's Military Uniforms of the World, but there are none of the horse furniture.
Caerphilly. Glam. Gareth Jones.
A.
The Schaumberg-Lippe Carabinier Korps existed from 1753 to 1759 and was comprised of 75 mounted troops and 50 foot soldiers.
The mounted arm rode on black horses with black horse furniture.
A large green cloak was thrown over the pistol holsters at the front of the saddle.
Over the saddle was a black sheepskin trimmed with a band of red cloth; this was also over the top of the cloak.
