Sarraz, Chapel Saint-Antoine, Cenotaph of Francis I Montferrand-La Sarraz, c.1370.

Photograph made in 1903 by Paul Vionnet soon after the first restoration of the monument (Elysee Museum, Lausanne, Vaudois iconographic collection). According to tradition, the recumbent would be Francis I [Montferrand-La Sarraz], bailiff of Vaud and Chablais, surrounded by Francis II [Montferrand-La Sarraz] and Aymon III [Montferrand-La Sarraz]. The two women in the background are Marguerite d'Oron and Marguerite de Vufflens. The chapel has undergone many transformations and did not recover its original state during the restorations that occurred between 1995 and 1997.
